Meditation!
Updated: Jul 16, 2019
In a previous post, Cheryl mentioned meditation and I got so excited! I LOVE TO MEDITATE! It truly has made such a difference in my life. I started meditated as a teen and I continue today. This is MY time that I talk to God and connect with Him!
There are so many ways to meditate that it can truly fit anyone's lifestyle. I personally use a hypnosis/meditation app from Surf City https://surfcityapps.com/ . With this app I can choose to just relax or I can work on a particular issue.
There are so many reasons to meditate that I cannot cover all of them. Here are just a few highlighted from the Mayo Clinic https://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/meditation/in-depth/meditation/art-20045858
Meditation and emotional well-being
When you meditate, you may clear away the information overload that builds up every day and contributes to your stress.
The emotional benefits of meditation can include:
Gaining a new perspective on stressful situations
Building skills to manage your stress
Increasing self-awareness
Focusing on the present
Reducing negative emotions
Increasing imagination and creativity
Increasing patience and tolerance
Meditation and illness
Meditation might also be useful if you have a medical condition, especially one that may be worsened by stress.
While a growing body of scientific research supports the health benefits of meditation, some researchers believe it's not yet possible to draw conclusions about the possible benefits of meditation.
With that in mind, some research suggests that meditation may help people manage symptoms of conditions such as:
Anxiety
Asthma
Cancer
Chronic pain
Depression
Heart disease
High blood pressure
Irritable bowel syndrome
Sleep problems
Tension headaches
Encourage everyone to at least give it a try. Following the Mayo Clinic link above will help you find the right form of meditation as well as how to get started.
All of us here @ Life In Motion wish all of you a blessed week!
